Frequently Asked Questions

We Build And Repair With Care

We understand that you may not have made a claim for damage to your property before, and the insurance claim and repair process may be a new experience to you. We have stepped out the process below for you, however if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our friendly staff for further explanation.

ProBuild Australia has developed a new app to make your insurance claim process with us as smooth and easy as possible. On this app you will be able to book a time with one of our estimators to come and assess your damages at a time that is convenient for you.

ProBuild Australia will receive your claim details from your insurance company. At this point we will call you or send you a link to our app to book in one of our Estimators to assess the damage.

Our Estimator will carry out a site inspection to assess the damage. They will take photos, measurements and provide a quote and report on the damage to the insurance company.

If approval is provided by your insurance company, you will be contacted by one of our friendly Repair Coordinators to arrange the repair works to commence.

Works will be scheduled to commence at your property as soon as possible after your insurance company has given us approval to carry out the repairs/ works at your property.  You will be assigned one of our friendly Repair Coordinators who will contact you to arrange signing of the scope of works and arrange a time for work to commence.

A Scope of Works is a detailed document that outlines the details of the damaged area, the repair requirements and all the labour and materials required to reinstate the damage back to its pre damage condition.

The Scope of Works needs to be read and signed by the Insured to allow works to proceed and will also be sent to the trades people carrying out the works.

To ensure your insurance company is getting the best price, they will often send multiple builders out to assess and quote on damages. Your insurer will then select one builder to complete the works. If ProBuild Australia is selected, we will contact you to commence works.

In most instances’ insurance companies request we collect the excess from the Insured. Excess is required to be paid prior to works commencing at your property. We then take the excess amount off the final invoice we send the insurance company. This is standard practice with most insurance companies.

This is insurance jargon for emergency work. Our emergency response is available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Our emergency response team will attend your property to ‘make safe’ the damage until it can be properly repaired.
